Stumbling Blocks

Barney Rehm - May 2, 2026

Spiritual stumbling blocks are often subtle—small compromises, lingering habits, or unnoticed attitudes—that quietly trip believers just as a painted line on the floor can break a steady stride. Ancient Israel repeatedly stumbled over the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life by failing to completely separate from pagan culture, materialism, and the pursuit of power. God calls His people to recognize these dangers, refuse every form of syncretism, and walk carefully so that nothing—however small—interrupts their obedience to Him.
