Never See the Good in What God Calls Bad

Barney Rehm - December 2, 2023

In a world that constantly urges us to “see the good in everything,” Scripture warns that we must never call good what God has clearly declared to be bad. Drawing from the accounts of Adam and Eve, the downward spiral described in Romans 1, and especially King Saul’s incomplete obedience regarding the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 15, this sermon shows how rationalizing what God condemns—whether pagan holiday customs or other compromises—leads to self-deception and lasting consequences. Today’s message challenges us to fear God, keep His commandments fully, and refuse to find good in anything He has forbidden.
