Keeping the Sabbath
Barney Rehm - August 23, 2025
God set aside the seventh day as sacred time for rest, worship, and fellowship, making it both a weekly memorial of creation and a foreshadowing of the greater rest still to come in His Kingdom. Faithful observance serves as a sign of God’s people and a practical indicator of how seriously one will approach the rest of His law; neglect historically led Israel into greater disobedience and judgment. The day begins and ends at sunset, and believers are called to cease from their own works, draw near to God, and enjoy the abundant blessings He promises to those who keep it holy.
