Chosen by God

Being chosen by God is distinct from being called; it means being selected and set apart as His special people, a royal priesthood and holy nation, through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. Once called, each person must choose to respond with repentance and baptism, after which God seals the believer with His Spirit as a down payment on eternal life. This Spirit enables a transformed life, uniting with the human spirit to produce the new creation and confirming that the believer truly belongs to Christ.
