Angels and Demons
In this sermon, we learn that angels are real, powerful spirit beings created by God, distinct from humans, and that popular ideas about people becoming angels after death are unbiblical. There are different kinds of angels (seraphim, cherubim, and archangels) and Lucifer’s pride led to his fall, turning him into Satan along with a third of the angels who became demons. Believers are urged to recognize ongoing spiritual warfare, stay alert to Satan’s deceptions, and remain fully committed to Jesus Christ, trusting in God’s superior angelic protection.
Keeping Our Sanity in This Evil World
In Romans 1:20-32, the apostle Paul describes how those who reject God become vain in their reasoning, exchange His truth for a lie, and are given over to a reprobate mind filled with every form of wickedness. Today’s sermon examines this passage in light of the growing evil in our world and shows that believers are engaged in spiritual warfare rather than merely human conflict. To keep our sanity amid these conditions, we must put on the whole armor of God, diligently study His Word, prove all things, and hold fast to that which is good.
What Are We Afraid Of
Scripture repeatedly commands “Do not be afraid” more than thirty times, yet human fears—loss of loved ones, public speaking, or even watching others suffer—remain deeply real. In the account of Jairus’ daughter, Jesus responds to the devastating news of her death with the words “Do not be afraid; only believe,” calling His followers to keep their focus on Him and the Kingdom of God above every earthly trial. Believers are urged to live each day asking “What would Jesus do?” and to remember the ultimate good news: we win in the end, for the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.
