What Are We Afraid Of

Scripture repeatedly commands “Do not be afraid” more than thirty times, yet human fears—loss of loved ones, public speaking, or even watching others suffer—remain deeply real. In the account of Jairus’ daughter, Jesus responds to the devastating news of her death with the words “Do not be afraid; only believe,” calling His followers to keep their focus on Him and the Kingdom of God above every earthly trial. Believers are urged to live each day asking “What would Jesus do?” and to remember the ultimate good news: we win in the end, for the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.
